How to Apply

No auditions or tapes are required. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until camp is full.

Note: All applications are considered pending until a deposit is received.

Types of Attendees

1. Participants

  • Perform twice in masterclass settings, each time for a different faculty member

  • Access to all classes and events

  • Housing and meals included in tuition

2. Auditors

  • Receive one 30-minute private lesson in lieu of performance in masterclasses

  • Access to all classes and events

  • Housing and meals included in tuition


Rules for Attendance

In attending JMOC, all campers agree to the following rules:

  • Always use courtesy and common sense

  • No recording devices

  • No practicing or reed making after midnight or before 7:30 AM

  • No pets

  • Alcohol will only be consumed by campers ages 21 and over and will not be abused


Age Restrictions

Admission is open to oboists age 15 and older. A limited number of advanced high school oboists will be accepted.

Requirements for applicants currently in high school:

  • Take private lessons

  • Work in the Barret Oboe Method or equivalent

  • Play in musical ensembles outside of school

  • Have started reed making

All campers under the age of 18 are REQUIRED to complete the following consent form prior to arrival at camp:
