JMOC 2024 - Policies and Precautions

We are so excited for camp this summer! To ensure the health and safety of our campers and staff, we are working with Wildacres to make this summer as safe as possible. *We strongly encourage all campers to be vaccinated and boosted prior to the start of camp.*

Terms and Conditions for Camper Safety

In order to keep yourself and your fellow JMOC participants and teachers as safe as possible, please do not drive to Wildacres and/or attend JMOC if you:

  • Are experiencing any of the following symptoms of COVD-19: cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell;

  • Believe you may have been exposed to someone with a suspected and/or confirmed case of COVID-19 with 10 days of your departure;

  • Have been recently diagnosed with Coronavirus/COVID-19, or diagnosed and not yet cleared as non-contagious by your physician, or by state or local public health authorities;

  • Are unwilling to follow the mask requirements as established by Wildacres and JMOC; OR if you are unwilling to wash your hands several times a day; OR if you are unwilling to abide by CDC guidelines about keeping safe.

If you have any questions or concerns about any of these precautions, please email us at johnmackoboecamp@gmail.com to get them answered before you leave for JMOC.

Additional Safety Precautions

We are implementing safety measures and precautions to ensure that our JMOC experience is both fun and healthy. Here are ways in which we are working toward this:

  1. Encouraging hand washing several times a day

  2. Regularly cleaning surfaces, including the classrooms, reed rooms, eating spaces, etc.

  3. Hand sanitizing stations available for use

  4. No sharing of reeds amongst students

  5. Distanced guest rooms available if necessary to quarantine participants due to exposure or possible symptoms

Please be patient with us as we are doing our best to make this summer equally safe, meaningful, and fun!
