Everett Porter
Everett Porter is a renowned audio producer and engineer at Polyhymnia, celebrated for his work with the world’s leading conductors, orchestras, and soloists. His career highlights include hundreds of CD and broadcast projects with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, a long-standing collaboration with Mitsuko Uchida, and complete Bruckner and Beethoven cycles with Andris Nelsons (Gewandhaus Orchestra and Vienna Philharmonic). Everett has worked with luminaries such as Pierre Boulez, Mariss Jansons, Bernard Haitink, Antonio Pappano, Daniele Gatti, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, John Eliot Gardiner, Magdalena Kožená, Piotr Beczała, Janine Jansen, and Emmanuel Ax.
His recordings have earned numerous awards, including two Grammys with Mitsuko Uchida. A conservatory-trained oboist with a degree in music and audio production from the Cleveland Institute of Music, Everett combines his artistry with technical innovation. As co-founder and director of Polyhymnia and Polycast, he is actively involved in advancing sound recording and production technology through cutting-edge R&D efforts.
Though Everett doesn't play oboe professionally, he returned to practicing regularly and playing chamber music a few years ago. His work with leading classical artists has greatly influenced his oboe playing, and especially musical interpretations. Everett is currently playing lots of Bach, including the flute sonatas and transcriptions of the Bach solo cello and violin suites.
